This week I have a lot to be cheerful for.
The main one is my 3yr old and that, after weeks of frustration, I finally feel like we’re heading the right way with her potty training and that there is finally light at the end of the tunnel! For weeks now she’s been pooping in her pants, several times a day. Sometimes she is aware that she has, but often she isn’t. We tried everything to get her to use the potty, thinking she was just being naughty and was late with the pooping potty training. However, just to rule out something medical I had taken her to the doctor and I was told it was behavioural as there didn’t seem to be anything wrong with her. However a chance comment on my blog on her first day of school, made a friend contact me as her daughter had been exactly the same at the same age and she had been diagnosed with faecal impaction, which basically means the child is constipated with a blockage in the bowel and the poo seeps around the blockage. Long story short she is now on medication to deal with it and we are now a lot more patient with her as we know it isn’t her fault and she cannot help it! It’s amazing how much weight knowing that lifts off your shoulders! You can read more about it here
After over a week fiddling around and trying to juggle a computer, demanding baby and jealous toddler, I now have my very own, self-hosted blog! What do you think? There’s a strange sense of pride knowing that it’s all mine!
I’ve just started an Incredible Years Toddler course with my 3yr old. I did start one a few years ago with my older two, but sadly I missed quite a few sessions because of work commitments. At least now being on maternity leave means I don’t have that problem and hopefully I can pick up some good tips which will not only help my 3yr old, but my 10, 8 and 6yr olds as well. Plus the baby when she’s older!
One of her biggest problems is she’s so argumentative and bossy, personally I blame Peppa Pig and Max and Ruby and I’m seriously thinking about banning her from watching them LOL Speaking of Max and Ruby, I just have two questions about that show… Where are their parents and why has no one called social services to report a 7yr old looking after her 2yr old brother! I wouldn’t let my 10yr old look after my 3yr old, let alone my 8 or nearly 7yr olds!!!
So those are my Reason’s to be Cheerful for this week. What are yours? Why not join in with Mich from Mummy From the Heart and her weekly blog hop #R2BC and share what’s making you happy this week. Too often we get caught up in all the negatives that surround us and it’s nice to take a minute to realise that no matter how dark things may seem, there’s always something to be positive about, no matter how small!
