Painting Flowers using Handprints

I saw that Center Parks had a challenge for March which was painting flowers, so I decided to do something unique with their handprints and make a picture out of it. I still had a blank canvas after making my mum’s birthday present so I used it.

First of all I came up with the idea in my head, but I wasn’t sure if it would work in practice. So I drew around one hand of each child to make templates which I could play around with to get the perfect design.

Once I had decided which way to do it, and I was glad I had created templates as I had to change the design slightly, I began.

First I used my eldest and only son’s hand to be the tree.

Next I used my eldest daughter’s hands at the bottom to be the flowers.

Then I used my 2nd eldest daughter’s hands to be the sun.

Next was my 2nd youngest daughter’s hands to be the leaves on the tree and the baby’s feet to be two butterflies.

Then everyone finished off the flowers by adding the petals.

Here is the finished masterpiece! I hope you like it as much as I do!

This is my entry to the Center Parcs and Tots 100 March challenge. If I’m chosen, I would like to visit Elveden, Longleat or Sherwood.
